Person of the year 2009 and the Oysters

Oyster Lane Theatre Group "Person of the Year" for 2009 went to Jackie Fitzhenry. Over the years Jackie has shown tremendous loyalty with her work as Front of House Manager and in the box office. Thank you Jackie for all your hard work and dedication.

So, the Oysters have have now come and gone. All the partying over. Now most of us will turn our attention to Panto or Rent, or both. But make a note in your calender for 17th February 2010. That's the date Oyster Lane will hold its AGM. But we'll talk about that in the New Year.

Of course, before that, there is teh small matter of the Christmas Party on December 5th. Hope to see you all there!

Wedding Singer a Huge Success!

Well done to everyone on what proved to be a fantastic show and a big hit with the Wexford audience. You can all be very proud. Thank you all so much for all the hard work.

Hope you all had a ball during the rehearsals and run of the show and see you all at the Oysters!

Bridal Run

To coincide with the forthcoming Oyster Lane Theatre Group production of “The Wedding Singer”, in the Dún Mhuire beginning on the 19th of October
Oyster Lane are calling all brides……

If you have recently (or not so recently) been married and would like an opportunity to wear your wedding dress again just for fun,
or would like to borrow a dress and join in - just for the sheer fun of it – Oyster Lane are organising a fun “Bridal Run”……… and follow “The Wedding Singer”.

This fun event will take place on Saturday 3rd of October, beginning in Redmond Square at 1.30 and proceeding to The Bullring.
You might like to make this a slow walk in killer heels or pick up the pace in a pair of runners.

Dresses from all eras are welcome, and none more so than the lovely fashions from the 1980’s when “The Wedding Singer” is set!

Show Launch

The Wedding Singer is officially launched. The launch took place in the beautiful Kinsella Castle at Slaney Manor. Alan Corcoran did the honours in launching the show.

Now it's full steam ahead with rehearsals. Opening night on 19th October is just around the corner.

80s Night

An 80s night was held in the Riverbank Hotel Bar as a social/fundraising event. Many Great costumes. In particular Edwin Keville with his self made Optimus Prime effort. A worthy winner of best male costume. Best female went to Kellie-Ann McGuire and Daniel Cunningham best youngster. Great effort everyone and great nigh too.

The Cast

The cast for the Wedding Singer was announced last night. Oyster Lane are delighted to see some new faces and also welcome back some familiar ones. Click Here for full cast!

Auditions!

After a fantastic turn out for the information night Oyster Lane can announce that auditions for the October 2009 production of The Wedding Singer will take place Tue 30th June - Thur 2nd July. For full details and information.

Show Announcement/Information Night

The show for October 2009 is "The Wedding Singer". An information night will be held Tuesday 9th June at 8pm in the Friary Hall. The production team will be there to give information and a character breakdown and answer any questions. Audition dates, details and pieces will also be available on the night.

Bag Packing

It's almost Oyster Lane season again and what better way to start? BAG PACKING! As you know the show depends a lot on fundraising so it is vital that all members make the effort.

Get in touch with our lovely fundraising officer, Majella Londra and let her know what times you are available.

Bag Packing will take place on 5th and 6th June in Dunnes Stores, Redmond Square, Wexford.

Remember, eggs and bread on top!
